This is the official home page of Jacob Kennedy. I am originally from Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada. I currently reside in Hillier, Ontario with my wife Lesley and our 4 year old daughter Ella. The home we built seems to be between postal routes and just about out of cell phone range. Lesley and I decided to become 'County folk' in 2005 and immediately ordered our rubber boots and cowboy hats. :-)

On a more professional note, I create web sites and SQL Server databases for Sears Canada out of Belleville. I also develop sites and applications for small to medium-sized businesses and organizations through my company Kennedy Data Solutions (I'm transitioning to Quinte Web Design but it's a lengthy process). I am currently specializing in ASP & PHP applications (web sites which use a database as a back end). ASP or PHP pages are perfect for keeping your site interesting and current. A web site built on a database allows you to update the content online without needing to know how to code or even connect to web servers. You don't even need to know about databases! These types of sites are perfect for web logs (blogs), retail product listings or even online calendars. One of my current favourite blog applications is called WordPress. I can customize a site for you, using WordPress, that will have you blogging on your own site in no time.

Like many geeks, my skills seem to extend to most things electronic. I've become the go-to guy for fixing computers in the County and can usually be counted on to give purchasing advice. I can set up wireless networks, design, install and test home theatres and whole-home audio systems, automate your lighting and even start your oven over the Internet. Well, to be honest, no one has ordered an Internet-enabled stove from me yet but I figure it's only a matter of time. As you can see, if it's electronic I can likely assist you in making it work.
